In a significant move, Nagaland government has proposed Dzükou Valley as the state’s official nomination under the national initiative Development of 50 Tourist Destinations of Global Standards. The proposal was presented by Minister for Tourism and Higher Education of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, during the two-day National Conference of State Tourism Ministers held in Udaipur. The conference, which concluded yesterday, focused on developing 50 world-class tourist destinations through a national challenge initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism.

Nagaland’s proposal outlines a transformative development plan with an estimated cost of 250 crore rupees, aiming to establish Dzükou Valley as a premier international eco-tourism destination. The project includes the construction of an eco-friendly luxury hotel, the development of tourist amenities, while preserving the valley’s pristine natural ecosystem.
