The Centre has selected Nagaland’s Mon district, among 100 aspirational agricultural districts in the country, to develop under the Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) for six years, beginning 2025-26.
Informing this to Nagaland Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir in a letter dated Sept 24 and received here on Saturday, Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said: “I am happy to announce that the district Mon has been selected under your Lok Sabha constituency in the state of Nagaland.”
Chouhan expressed hope that Jamir’s leadership would enable district authorities and officials under his jurisdiction to smoothly implement the PMDDKY in the state.“Looking forward to working in close coordination with you and the state authorities for making PMDDKY a grand success,” the letter read.
Chouhan added that the necessary instructions and operational guidelines are also being issued separately by the agriculture & farmers welfare department to chief secretaries of the states.
