The Covid vaccination drive in Nagaland is seen to be getting a good response after the 18 to 44 age group has started receiving the first dose.

7,298 individuals received their first does in the first two days, The Eastern Mirror has reported.

Reacting to the positive response, Dr. R. Linyu, Medical officer at UPHC Porterlane, Kohima said that “these age groups trust the efficacy of Covishied and have better knowledge about Covid-19 vaccine unlike the 45+ beneficiaries.”

PTI reported that Nagaland, as of Thursday, has administered a total of 2,52,357 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 1,98,426 people, State Immunisation Officer Dr. Ritu Thurr said. A total of 53,931 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine, he said.

Nagaland government has announced its decision to provide free vaccination for persons above 18 years of age. Earlier, there was concerns regarding shortage of vaccines in Nagaland but the state government has assured that “For Nagaland, there is no shortage of vaccine”.
