Neiphiu Rio goes on self quarantine after Delhi trip

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had recently gone to Delhi for a series of important meetings where he met Union defence minister Rajnath Singh among others.

There was a scare as a driver of Nagaland house tested COVID-19 positive. It was reported that some ministers including Deputy chief minister had to take tests for COVID-19 and were eventually tested negative.

Upon return from Delhi, Chief minister Rio went into self quarantine. He wrote on his Twitter handle “As a precautionary measure, I’m on self-quarantine on my return to Nagaland from Delhi. Taking precautions to ensure safety of others & myself. Will continue discharging duties. Please follow official advisories/guidelines, wear mask, maintain social distancing & observe hygiene.”

Meanwhile, Deputy CM Y.Patton and colleagues returned from Delhi and are in Institutional Quarantine as per the existing COVID19 SOP in the State.
