Chief minister with cabinet colleaguesChief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the much awaited BSL-3 lab at NHAK, Kohima today. The CM said that the lab will not only be able to test for COVID19 but also conduct researches & tests for other viral diseases when the need arises.
The chief minister tweeted “On behalf of Nagaland govt I express gratitude to our neighboring states Assam & Manipur for helping us in our time of need”.
At the inauguration, the chief minister said that thousands of Nagas will be returning soon and some of them may be infected with the virus. “We should stop stigma related to Covid19” the CM pointed out.
Meanwhile, Health minister Pangnyu Phom in a tweet mentioned “The desire of our people to have our own Lab to combat the Pandemic is fulfilled. We have successfully inaugurated the BSL-3 Lab at NHAK today. This is a red-letter day for Nagas and the Lab is dedicated to the people of our State”.
