With reports of terrorists planning to disrupt the Republic Day celebration this year in New Delhi, where US President Barack Obama is to be the chief guest, the special Nagaland Armed Police (NAP) stationed in Delhi has been given the task of securing the VVIP enclosure and the main stage where Obama, President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be seating on January 26 along with the Delhi police.

According to an India TV report, the Delhi Police and the Nagaland Armed Police personnel have already sealed the VVIP enclosure and the main stage where Obama, President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be seating on January 26.

The National capital is already on high alert given the threat from terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba on January 26.

An IBNLive report recently cited some intelligence inputs which said that terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba is likely to carry out attacks in Delhi ahead of Obama’s visit for Republic Day celebrations. Security has been beefed up at important installations in the capital like airports, railway stations, bus terminals and metro stations.(Page News Service)
