One killed as Assam Rifles attacks NSCN-U camp in Wokha

According to reports coming in, one NSCN (Unification) cadre was shot dead by the Assam Rifles during an early morning attack on the camp near Okotso village in Wokha district.

As per reports, the dead and an injured cadre was taken away by the soldiers. ANI reported that six weapons including two AK 47 rifles were recovered from the spot.

The NSCN (Unification) has signed a ceasefire pact with the Indian government.

A leader of the NSCN (Unification) told IANS: “Ask the Indian Army which abrogated the ceasefire this morning. Yes, there was a heavy exchange of gun fire near Okotso village.”
