The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has accelerated the growth of the game across the country after its official recognition as the National Sports Federation (NSF) in April 2025.
Over 50,000 people have taken up the sport in recent years, with more than 500 courts already established and many more underway.
Founded in 2022, the Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) is spearheading the sport’s growth in the state, offering coaching and community events. It has about 500 members.
In August 2025, the Kohima Open Tournament was organized—situated at 4,800 feet above sea level, making it India’s highest-altitude pickleball court.
In Nagaland, the rapid organization of workshops, tournaments, and expansion across districts signals strong momentum of the sport.
