Shiv Sena to form Govt with Cong, NCP in Maharashtra

Maharashtra will finally see a Govt in place after the recent assembly elections. While slamming BJP Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday said that Shiv Sena is ready to form the government in Maharashtra with Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Holding a press conference in the morning, Raut said the BJP is responsible for the current situation in Maharashtra and cannot hold Shiv Sena responsible for the political turmoil in the state.

“BJP shouldn’t blame Sena. They are responsible for the present situation,” he said.

“BJP is ready to sit in opposition. It’s their arrogance. They are ready to sit in opposition but not ready to adhere to the 50-50 formula. This is disrespect to the mandate,” Raut added, highlighting BJP’s arrogant stand.

The Sena leader says “no relationship” with the BJP remains as the party has not adhered to the 50:50 formula.

Raut said, “If the BJP isn’t agreeing to the 50-50 formula then what’s the relationship? Mere formality is left now. Arvind Sawant will resign today you can make what you wish of this.”

He also appealed to NCP chief Sharad Pawar to forget differences and come together to form the government in Maharashtra.

“Sharad Pawar believes that the government should run on a common minimum programme and all leaders should forget their differences and come together to form the government,” Raut said.

As the political turmoil continues to grow in Maharashtra, all eyes will be on the NCP chief Sharad Pawar who will chair a core group meeting in Mumbai today to take a call on allying with Shiv Sena for forming the government in Maharashtra.

NCP leader Nawab Malik said, “Sharad Pawar has convened a meeting of the core committee of the party at 10 AM to discuss future strategy. We will move ahead jointly with Congress in accordance with our Common Minimum Programme.” -Agencies
