The youngest self-made female billionaire as of 2025 is Lucy Guo, age 30, the co-founder of Scale AI.
She was recently named Forbes’ youngest self-made billionaire with a net worth of $1.3 billion. Her first company, Scale AI, an AI data-labeling firm, was acquired by tech giant Meta for a whopping $25 billion, as per the Times of India.
Under their leadership, Scale AI grew into a multi-billion dollar “unicorn” company. It is considered a critical infrastructure company in the current AI boom.
The tech entrepreneur dropped out of Carnegie Mellon University with only a year left to complete her Computer Science degree. This decision was a major disappointment for her parents.
After leaving Scale, she founded Backend Capital, a venture fund that invests in very early-stage software and technology startups. She is also a co-founder of Passes, a Web3 platform that allows creators to monetize their content and community using digital memberships and tokens.
Lucy Guo was born and raised in Fremont, California, as the daughter of Chinese immigrant parents, both of whom were electrical engineers.
