Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS (1991 batch), currently Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Nagaland.
He is set to take office from August 1, 2025, following the superannuation of the incumbent Chief Secretary, Dr. J. Alam, on July 31, 2025
He has held key positions such as Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner of Nagaland; he has frequently represented the state in high-level financial policy forums and events, including media briefings related to GST and state revenue.
During the 1990s, Imchen served in sub‑divisional roles in Phek and Mon districts, followed by approximately three years as Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang.
Early life and Education
Born January 29, 1967, Sentiyanger Imchen joined the 1991 batch of the IAS, allocated to the Nagaland cadre.
He holds an M.A. in History and began government service on September 15, 1991.
