NDPP’s Keoshu elected unopposed in bye-election

Returning officer Henok Buchem handing certificate to winning candidate

NDPP candidate S Keoshu Yimchunger was on Wednesday elected uncontested in the bye-election to the 58 Shamator-Chessore Assembly constituency.

The seat fell vacant after the demise of former MLA Toshi Wungtung who passed away on July 1.

CM Rio congratulated Keoshu in a tweet.

With this result, the number of seats for the NDPP stands at 21. NPF 25 members. The BJP has 12 elected members and there are 2 independent MLAs.
